Steve represents and advises clients that are dealing with business and real estate disputes. Steve is an investor and business owner, and his approach is unique from other attorneys. He appreciates the financial realities of conflict, and makes every effort to find a creative solution that makes business sense. When there are no choices though, his experience and record of success pays dividends. Steve has represented clients ranging from individual entrepreneurs to fortune 500 companies over the course of his career, appearing in numerous federal and state trials. When it makes business sense to resolve a dispute, Steve finds a solution. When it does not, he has the skills and the resolve to take it to trial, where he almost always prevails. He applies the same skills, experience and record of success to the practice of family law.

Steve also has extensive experience representing and advising clients in business and real estate transactions. He routinely assists clients in transactions involving the purchase or sale of businesses and/or real estate. He has saved his clients millions recognizing potential tax issues, finding additional value in their business transactions or simply helping them avoid unnecessary liabilities.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES:

Steve is very active in the Rotary Organization, having served as a Board Member, Committee Chair, Treasurer and District Committee Chair. Steve has served as a Board Member for the St. Paul/Nagasaki Sister City Organization, the Como Park Lantern Lighting Festival and as President and Board Member for the Bloomington Sister City Organization (Izumi Japan).

Steve was raised in New Brighton, Minnesota and now lives in Minneapolis. Steve is married to Karin Munson and they have a son named Henrik. Steve’s father Edward, who passed away in 1994, was also a prominent Twin Cities trial lawyer and real estate investor.

Steve attended Totino-Grace High School where he graduated in 1986. He spent two years living in Tokyo, Japan where he learned to speak conversational Japanese.

Steve has a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He is an avid fisherman, downhill skier and pool player. He also likes to scuba dive and golf.
